From Friday, Sept. 9 through Monday, Sept. 11, 22 people were arrested by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station and officers with the California Highway Patrol Newhall Area Office, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. This was a slight decrease in arrests compared to the 29 arrests made during Labor Day weekend.  Half of all arrests were for felony charges, including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, carrying a loaded firearm in a public place or vehicle, and possession of a cane sword.
